What
is D.S.P Performing Group?
D.S.P.
Performing Group is a group that provides opportunities for children to
learn about singing, acting, and playing percussion instruments.
Through musical/dramatic arts training and performing on stage,
children can obtain both fine arts and teamwork skills while building
confidence in a relaxing environment.
How
does D.S.P. Performing Group provide training for the children?
D.S.P.
Performing Group teaches children music through playful and rhythmic
activities. Children will have fun while discovering their natural
talent and potentials through onstage performance. We create a variety
of enjoyable exercises to help children get a sense of accomplishment,
and thus help building a positive attitude. Children will also learn
about coordinating and interacting with others from creating music in a
group environment. These valuable skills will be helpful for the
children's musical learning process, as well as future social
situations.
Why
do we include percussion instruments?
Rhythm is one
the basic elements in musical training; it is also an instinctive in
many people. Percussion instruments create rhythm and music through
striking the instrument itself, instruments such as the snare drum,
timpani, base drum, triangle, xylophone, and many others. Children have
a chance to choose and learn their preference. We believe that the
children's energy and emotions can be released from playing a
percussion instrument. They can be creative, and fulfill their
potentials to the fullest with percussion instruments, music, and
dramatic arts.
Will
my child get a chance to perform?
Yes. There will
be two performances a year, a minor performance in December, and an
annual performance in May. Through onstage performance, children can
overcome nerves and gain confidence, and also learn about onstage
presence, skills, expressions, etc. All these skills will be applicable
to the children's future. Of course, the most important aspect of this
is to have fun and be fulfilled artistically.
